Who was there? What did they talk about?
The last Loki Community Call took place in October 2024 and focused on the "Explore Logs" feature for Grafana Loki. The call featured several key participants:
- Trevor Whitney, a Senior Software Engineer, was in the hot seat discussing the Explore Logs feature.
- Nicole Fer Huen and Jay Clifford, both Senior Developer Advocates, were present to facilitate the discussion.
- Paul, a team member from the Loki team, was there to support the community.
- Julie, a technical writer for the Loki documentation, also participated.
The main topic of discussion was the Explore Logs feature, which had recently gone GA (Generally Available) and was announced at ObservabilityCon. The feature aims to make logs and Loki more accessible to users with varying levels of experience. The call also touched on the development process, challenges faced, and the iterative improvements made to the Explore Logs feature. Trevor shared insights into the development journey, including moments of difficulty and breakthroughs.
Additionally, there was a brief mention of a Promtail bug that had been addressed, and the team encouraged users to migrate to Alloy, the future general-purpose agent for Grafana.
